Who am I? Good question! Maybe it can best be summed up with this list of random facts about me… (I do not guarantee that you’ll be entertained, but at least mildly informed!)

1. Yes, red is really my true hair color, all thanks to my Grandma Winnie who had this color until she passed away in her 70’s!
2. I constantly fight the urge to redecorate my house- I’d paint a room a week if I could. (But I’m held back by reason and my husband’s threats!)
3. If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be cheese.
4. While driving, I’m constantly on the lookout for a beautiful lonely tree- it’s a strange subject that I’d love to photograph more.
5. I love roadtrips. Give me a reason to go just about anywhere and I’m there!
6. I have an uncanny sense of direction and very rarely get lost. When I visit a new town I always work with my host to learn the layout of the town so I know where I’m going (even if I’m not driving).
7. I am addicted to …. … … I use it constantly in emails and chats…. annoying…. or useful?…
8. I met my husband, Gabe, on a blind setup in 1996. Our best friends were dating and thought we’d be a perfect fit, he had always wanted to date a redhead and I had a thing for skinny, dark-haired guys. A match made in heaven (after we warmed up to each other). 12 years now and counting…
9. I really want to go back to Europe to explore more. Hoping to travel to Ireland for our 10 yr wedding anniversary!
10. Maybe it makes me a dork, but a fun Saturday night for me is playing Scrabble with my Mom and Dad (but watch out, I’m super competitive!)
11. My daughters are the cutest kids in the world… no bias here.
12. I drive a manual transmission car- love the control of the stick shift (and the great gas mileage!)
13. My favorite day of the year is the first day of the Spring when you can walk outside without a jacket for the first time.
14. I am totally a detail person- sometimes I get a bit hung up on them, but I love things to be just so. It also means I get all excited about the little things in the world that make it so cool!

Why be a photographer?

I do this because I love making people happy by showing them beauty they weren’t even aware existed within them or within their world. I love being able to amplify the cuteness of the baby’s tiny toes, the stunning beauty of a bride dressing for her wedding day, the spunk of a high school senior who is very much their own person, and the love that radiates throughout a family. People know these feelings and attributes exist, but to behold them in a portrait is priceless. I love being able to do that for them.

I am located near Saginaw, Michigan the heart of the tri-cities. I am more than willing to travel to Midland, Bay City, Owosso, Lansing and all the surrounding areas for you. I live out in the country near St. Charles with my husband and our two young daughters on a small plot of land surrounded by farmer’s fields- we love being out in the country. I specialize in portraits for the whole family and weddings of all sizes.
