I’m not sure why, but every time I have a session set up with Kelly it rains, like the hardest rain we’ve had in weeks! This session coincided with tornado watches on top of all the heavy rain! But despite the gloomy weather, I was able to find enough good light in their house (thanks to a big sliding door) to work with their adorable new baby boy, William. Their baby boy is only a few days younger than my newest daughter, so it was fun to compare war stories and also to offer a little advice and consolation to these new parents! After the session, Kelly wrote me a note to thank me for being so calm and easy-going with Liam even when he was a little fussy. I loved hearing that from her, thanks! This is where being a mom comes in very handy… newborns are so much easier to deal with after having so much experience of my own!
Here is their adorable little guy! Congrats Kelly & Trace!

My sweet little Lydia just turned 2! It’s unbelievable to me what a big girl she is already, though that should be no surprise since she tries so hard to be just like her big sister. She is full of spunk and adventure- totally a chip off the old block there! She wakes each day with her puppies and blankie in hand & greets us with “Morning!” before wanting to watch a movie in the quiet of the early morning. Through the day she and big sister defy all organization and pull out all the Polly Pockets, Barbies, baby dolls and stuffed animals they can… they play really well together but when things get rough Lydia can hold her own… probably a bit tougher than big sister! She’s the one most likely to be climbing over the back of the chair, on the dresser or up on the cupboards… a little monkey. We adore our little girl, every last bit of her amazing self!
Happy 2nd Birthday, Lydia!

I don’t know if I’ve ever met a baby with such big, beautiful eyes! Daniel can light up the whole room with his adorable smile that covers his whole face- what a cutie! I was thrilled to get to spend a little time playing him and coaxing those huge smiles and giggles out of him. He was a real sport for all my crazy ideas, and even got comfortable enough to fall asleep in my basket at the end… and I surely can’t resist a few shots of a sleeping, beautiful baby!
